Belonging before obligation. Connection before commitment.
Northern Pagan Church exists to foster community, shared practice, and mutual care among modern pagans. Membership is an invitation into relationship — with one another, with the sacred, and with the values we hold in common.
Becoming a member does not require perfect belief, a specific tradition, or prior experience. It does ask for curiosity, respect, and a willingness to engage in good faith with our community.
What Membership Means
Membership affirms that you:
- Recognize the Sacred Tree as the guiding framework of our community
- Commit to practicing honor, hospitality, and sovereignty in community spaces
- Agree to our Membership, Conduct, and Safety Agreement
- Understand that Northern Pagan Church centers practice and relationship over dogma
Members are encouraged to engage with the life of the community in ways that are meaningful and accessible to them, with opportunities to deepen understanding through gatherings, discussions, and classes.
A Shared Foundation: The Roots of the Sacred Tree
Members should have a basic grasp of the Roots of the Sacred Tree, which ground our community in shared values rather than enforced belief.
At minimum, members are asked to understand and agree that:
- Values come before titles or authority
- Community safety and consent are sacred responsibilities
- Diversity of gods, spirits, and practices is honored
- Growth happens through lived experience, not rigid doctrine
Who Can Become a Member?
Membership is open to:
- Individuals and households seeking community
- Those new to paganism as well as long-practicing pagans
- People exploring connection without pressure to lead or teach
You do not need:
- To swear an oath
- To donate money
- To attend every event
Membership is free and voluntary.
What Membership Is Not
Membership does not grant:
- Authority over others
- Automatic leadership roles
- The ability to speak for Northern Pagan Church
Leadership, teaching, and oath-bound roles follow separate paths and discernment processes that are entered into over time, following the establishment of membership.
Staying Connected as a Member
Members may receive:
- Occasional member-specific communications
- Early or direct information about gatherings and classes
- Invitations to participate more deeply as the church grows
As Northern Pagan Church expands, additional opportunities and pathways may become available to members who wish to engage further.
Becoming a Member
To become a member, please complete our registration form:
Once submitted, your membership is active unless we need clarification or follow-up.
Membership is confirmed annually during the renewal window (October 1–December 31) to ensure continued connection and up-to-date records.
What Happens After You Register
After you submit the registration form, your membership is active. There is no approval process beyond shared agreement to our values and community expectations.
You may receive occasional updates or invitations to participate more deeply, but all involvement remains optional. Membership is about relationship and accountability, not obligation.
Leaving Membership
Membership in Northern Pagan Church is voluntary and may be ended at any time.
If you feel that this community is no longer the right fit for you, you are welcome to step away without explanation or obligation. Leaving membership does not affect your ability to attend public events, and it does not prevent future reconnection if circumstances change.
To end your membership, please send a brief email from the address you used to register, stating that you wish to step away from membership. Your request will be honored promptly and respectfully.
We trust individuals to know when a relationship has run its course, and we hold space for endings with the same care we give to beginnings.
